led by freshman Brenna Powers, finished sixth overall. Powers finished sixth and freshman Eva
Lambrecht finished 10th giving them both first team all conference honors. Three other runners who finished the race
included Jennifer Tyson, Jodie Hearlson and Jamie Frantz.
“We did have two
freshmen in the top ten,” said head men’s and women’s coach Mike Howe said
about the conference championship race.
“That was great for freshmen.”
Howe was pleased
with the effort the runners from both teams have shown this season.
“Everyone has
shown improvement at one meet or another,” Howe said. “We really ran as a pack this season.”
Howe was named
coach of the year for the men’s cross country team for the fourth consecutive
year.
