Gradstone supports seniors

Gradstone, the final Cornerstone worship service of the school year, will be held in the Casado Dining Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 8.

Normally held on Sunday evenings, the service will be held the Friday before graduation as a chance for the families of graduates to experience Cornerstone, says Preston Todd, assistant director of Campus Ministries.

“The Campus Ministries staff wanted on opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to families for sharing their graduates with us, as well as an opportunity to encourage graduates to keep going,” said Todd.

Gradstone will consist of singing led by student praise band The Stones, stories from fellow graduates and a message from Director of Campus Ministries Patrick Sehl.

Students are allowed to invite anyone who has encouraged them while at Friends, including family, friends, staff and faculty.

Last year’s event was well-attended, says Carrie Mills, assistant director of campus ministries, who also has some words of advice for prospective graduates.

“Just never forget that you don’t walk alone,” she said,
