Green gives students walkout

About 60 students gathered at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Davis Adminstration Building, cheering, hollering and beating pans to petition President Biff Green for a walkout. Students wanted to celebrate the men’s basketball team winning the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championship.

“On behalf of the student body and the Student Government Association, we demand a walkout,” said SGA president Roman Rodriguez.

After hearing from Joe Zimmerman, athletic director, and Dale Faber, men’s basketball coach, Green granted the walkout.

“Based on everything I’ve heard, I officially declare today a walkout,” Green said.

The walkout had several events for students, including free bowling and go carts at The Alley, free Hog Wild in Casado Campus Center, $1 movies at The Palace and Java Jam in Casado.
