The general education requirements at Friends University are not going to change quite yet.
On Wednesday, April 21, the faculty voted against proposed changes in the general education requirements that had been drawn up by a committee comprised of faculty members from every part of the University.
The proposed changes met opposition because of uncertainty as to what the plan would mean for everyone involved as it was a highly customizable model. Many disciplines in the University were worried about whether their courses would be included in the the new general education plan.
The General Education Committee worked for two years on this model.
