Christmas is almost here. That means sweaters with Frosty the Snowman and dangling earrings that look like Christmas light bulbs. While these show that you’re in the Christmas spirit, they’re not professional looking, and to be honest, a little cheesy. You don’t have to look like a Christmas tree to show that you’re festive. Here are some tips on how to look stylish for that Christmas party or family gathering.

For a casual Christmas party: Wear skinny jeans and knee-high boots, they’re a 2009 fashion favorite. To look more festive add a bright colored scarf and a loosely knitted sweater or cardigan.

For a semi-formal Christmas party: Wear a high-waisted pencil skirt and a silk blouse. Choose a red or green blouse to add that Christmas touch. Funky heels will set this outfit off perfectly.

For a formal Christmas party: Wear the classic cocktail dress, but give it that winter touch with a fur wrap. Slide on bright colored heels to give the outfit that extra pop.

Be creative. Look through your closet and find old favorites before hitting the mall. Remember you don’t have to wear Santa Claus sweaters or socks that jingle to get in the Christmas spirit.
