The Friends University volleyball team brought home the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship title last weekend when the Falcons played Bethel College.

Nov. 10 the Falcons hosted the University of St. Mary in the Garvey Gymnasium for the quarterfinals. The Falcons came away with three straight wins to move onto the semi-finals.

The Nov. 13 semi-finals kicked off in Garvey once again with Friends hosting Sterling College. This game proved a little more difficult for the Falcons. The first game the Falcons pulled off the win 25-23. Sterling came back to grab the win in the second game, 25-22, but the Falcons regrouped and pulled in two more games to come away with the match, putting them into the championship against Bethel.

Nov. 14 the KCAC championship match kicked off in Hillsboro with Friends and Bethel. The first game Bethel won 25-12. The Falcons came back in the second game winning 25-17. Bethel would again take the third game, 25-21, hoping to grab the next game to bring in the championship win. The Falcons stayed strong and beat Bethel in the next two games to dominate the scoreboard and become the 2009 KCAC Champions.

Friends will travel to Bellevue, Neb., to play Bellevue University on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 4 p.m. in the NAIA tournament.
