Friends beats Newman in PsiQ contest

Friends University students went head-to-head against Newman University on April 8 in the annual PsiQ academic quiz bowl and brought home the roving trophy.

Bill Allan, in the guise of Sigmund Freud, emceed the event and asked psychology-related questions in the fields of social psychology, human growth and development, general psychology and research methods.

The Friends teams were “The Confounding Variables” whose members were Jennifer Babitzke, Andrea Dubois, Matthew Hughes and Marisa Jones; and “The Standard Deviants” whose members were Autumn Brown, Constance Brown, Joe Berendse and Jeremy Lynne. “The Confounding Variables” placed first, and the “The Standard Deviants” placed second.

Donna Stuber-McEwen and Bill Allan are the teams’ coaches.
